FIRST, the robotics competition meant to inspire more students to take up careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, announced that it is rolling out its First Tech Challenge competitions to India, China, and Eastern Europe.
Competitions have been set for 2 April in Bucharest, Romania; 23 April in Shanghai, China; and 15 August in Mumbai/Delhi, India. PTC, a maker of product development software and a major sponsor of FIRST competitions, has conducted more than 40 hands-on workshops for students, teachers, competition volunteers, and mentors to bring them up to speed in 3D design and collaboration technology.
