1. Create your IEEE web account
An IEEE Web Account provides access to a variety of IEEE online services, and is one of the basic ways you identify yourself as a member. If you haven’t already done so after joining, do so now by clicking here.
2. Create your IEEE E-mail alias
This member benefit identifies you as an IEEE member with an @ieee.org email address while forwarding all incoming mail to your real Internet account. The IEEE Personal Email Alias also offers an optional anti-spam feature – the Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE) filter. Choose your own level of filtering sensitivity to have UCE tagged for your review or completely blocked from delivery. To register your IEEE e-mail alias click here.
3. Explore the “What’s New @ IEEE” newsletters
The ten free opt-in newsletters from What’s New @ IEEE cover the latest research and developments in your field, as well as IEEE news and benefits for members, the scoop on upcoming conferences, career advice, and much more. Each monthly issue covers the news you need to know to stay current in your field, and to make the most of your IEEE membership. Explore what is available by clicking here.
4. Explore member publications
There are numerous IEEE publications available to members. The top three publications, available to all members on a regular basis, online and in prin are: IEEE Potentials Magazine (6 issues online), The Institute Newsletter (12 monthly issues - 4 print, 8 online) and the famous IEEE Spectrum Magazine (12 monthly issues - print and/or online). Click on all three of them to familiarize yourself with character of each.
5. Find your place as an active member!
Log in to the myIEEE membership portal. You’ll be able to see which geographical region you belong to, what section and/or branch you are automatically a member of, along with your membership in the global IEEE.
