Before graduating

If you are about to graduate, that means your student membership is about to end - and you are about to become a full member, and part of the GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) program. Before you do, we advise you to do a couple of useful steps:

  1. Contact your section chair and ask him to write you a recommendation for the job interviews you will probably be looking for soon. List of section chairs can be found here.
  2. Use the IEEE Job Site to create a profile of your ideal job and update it anytime. Jobs matching the profile can be viewed immediately, or automatically sent via email. You choose how much of your identity and information to give to an employer. Sign up and be pre-qualified for an interview within minutes!
  3. As a full member and part of GOLD, you are all set for the next step in volunteering - this time on section level. Contact your section chair about volunteering opportunities.
  4. Get informed on GOLD, by visiting the GOLD web page.
  5. Attend local section meetings and peer with your new friends - by acquiring GOLD status, you are now equal to the rest of the members with voting privileges!
